Total $2414. With 5% GST it's $2530 or something. No clue if you guys even have PST in Alberta, do you? in Ontario that's another 8%.
If you meant $2400 after taxes, remove the Scythe Ninja or some of the hard disks. You could also do the assembly or at least the Windows install yourself to save cash. Or get a much cheaper case like the CoolerMaster 690. Remove the Ninja if you won't overclock.
Remove some of the disks if you don't need that much room. There may be better RAM there, I just was too lazy to inspect them all.

That configuration would be great for my media center setup. I have a lot of movies that I store on the hard drive. I have a 1tb hd and 2 500's to back up the 1tb and still not enough room.

If you want more POWA then drop the Velociraptor and 2 of the 640 gigs and assemble the system your self. This would leave you enough room to get a second 4870x2 provided aevm picked out a crossfire mobo. If not then find one and go for it...

Nah, no downloads, just a couple GB of Linux distributions from time to time... I record TV shows and watch them whenever I have time. You wouldn't believe how fast they fill up the disks. Of course that setup has a ridiculous amount of space if you don't do that

About the two HD 4870X2:

Two HD 4870X2 cards would need something like Corsair HX 1000 ($260 at memoryexpress). Add 260-115=145 for that. (Visiontek recommends 1KW. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814129114)
They'd also need an X48 motherboard. The GA-EP45-DS3R does have Crossfire but it would cause bottlenecks in Crossfire with those cards. So, upgrade to GA-X48-DS4, $250, that adds another $90.
Add a second video card, $580.
In total, this adds 145+90+580=$815.

Downgrade the case to Cooler Master CM 690, $80. That saves $170.
Remove the Velociraptor, the Scythe Ninja, two WD 640GB disks and the LG burner, save another 330+50+160+30=$570.

In total, we end up with 815-170-570=75 more than before, i.e. around $2500 before taxes. I like it. It's way overkill on a 22" monitor, of course.
