More Information

Attempting to build my own computer ordered the parts a few days ago...
So everything arrived just a little bit ago from newegg, except the Video card(4870).

Not sure what I can do? I have an old x300 that apparently is new that must have been shipped from Dell years ago that I guess I forgot to send back(it was wrong card at the time).

Can I just pop that in and not install the drivers to see if everything will work, if I somehow miraculously get this thing together?

Stupid card was shipped from Cali while everything else was shipped from NJ, weird cuz the trackign showed everything at the local UPS place at the same time yet the estimated dates for delivery were off a day on teh video card.

Edit... Had another off the wall question.
My current speakers not sure what you call 'em they have a sub. and 4 speakers labled Front Left, Back Left, Front Right, Back Right(yadda yadda yadda). They have 2 cables that connect to my current dell.
One is black, the other is pee type of green. I haven't looked yet but is speaker cords sort of universal meaning I should have the correct input slots on my new motherboard/case/whatever it would normally hook up too? Don't have a sound card just gonna use the onboard audio.
The card is...

If you have a PCI-Express slot you can use the X300.
Speaker cords are universal.

Just use the x300 and build/install as normal, including video drivers (latest version of AMD/ATi's Catalyst 8.7). That'll give you time to configure everything properly and swap the video cards when the new one comes in.

Agreed.
Just when you plug in your new card I'd suggest uninstalling old drivers before installing the new ones ;)

+1 on use X300, or you can just wait and ignore the itch.
