But my question was if this system will run good with the latest games?

Noticed you went with the DDR3...still, you would get more preformance now going with a Quad over a Duo. It seems kinda pointless to get a system with DDR3, then get cheap on the CPU...

depends on the games, some don't use quad at all, but what the op picked will run current software just fine.

The ram is quite cheap, And ive spoken to people that say DDR3 kills DDR2.
I also heard there is no point in a quad. Duo does the same.

But will that system be good to run games fine? with high frames ect..

Thanks for ya help dudes.

DDR3 has a lot more bandwith, but horrible latency, so it is still almost even, but good ddr3 is a tad faster.

Ahhk cool.

The mobo good for my other specs?

Should i go Vista or XP?

Cheers.

Yeah, 550 is good, but the corsair 650 is on a hell of a sale and it'd leave u room to upgrade to a quad or whatnot later. I like vista, but on my 5400 w 2 gigs, still pokey. has some neat stuff tho...like each program has it's own volume slider, handles crashes better than xp too.

550 would work, but you never know how much the next vga cards are gonna eat up, I'd get extra juice just in case.

Ok.
So ive had some changes because the mobo i wanted aint available.
Will these specs work good together?

ASUS P5Q PRO Motherboard

Intel Core2 Duo E8500

Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18

Gigabyte Radeon HD4850 625Mhz

Seagate Barracuda 320GB ST3320613AS

All good?

Cheers.

More Information

Look for some 5-5-5-15 memory with the lowest voltages you can find. I'm sure you can find something around the same price. There are a lot of good choices with mail in rebates. I also like WD Caviar over Barracuda, but if your preference is the Barracuda, it's still a good drive. The Asus 4850 is cheaper after rebate, only $158.

Ahhk kool.

So will this rig be able to run lastest games ect..
Will it be fast?

Thanks :)

More Information

Yeah, definitely. You might not be able to play the highest resolutions with the highest settings. You'd probably have to spend a lot more on a GTX 280 to do that, or crossfire, but you'll be fine with high settings and a nice resolution.

Ahhk kool.

Also, They're all good parts yeah? I did abit of research and they all seemed good.

Thanks heaps for your help mate.
