Hello tom,my ati x1600 pro 512mb ddr2 128bit 500800mhz is too older too run the new games on high 1024768 and i wan't to buy a new video card.In my budget, the HD4870 512mb DDR5 is the best choice.I have three problems

1 . HD4870 is compatible with my mainboard, intel dg965wh ? (look here http://www.intel.com/Products/Desk [...] erview.htm for more details)

2 . My cpu is too older and it will bottleneck the next video card(HD4870).In 3 gigs how is the situation (yes i know i don't have a overclockable mainboard,but soon i can buy a new mainboard who can push my cpu on 3.0-3.2gigs if i am lucker P)

3 . I have a bad psu, an delux 450w, i know it sucks, and i must buy a new psu, i am looking on a bluestorm II 500w, it is good for my pc

I am playing on 1280&1024 on an 43 clasic samsung lcd,i know that on this resolution HD4850 is the best bang for the buck, but i want to use this video card many years (not ten or more D), and maybe in 2009 i can buy an quad-core processor.

e6400 2.13ghz ~ with an amd athlon 64 x2 5200+ 2.7gigs in gaming.With this cpu i want to play all games on high details with 30-35fps, no more,i can do it with this core 2 duo ? i know he is bottenecking the card in some games like grid but i am playing games like crysis, unreal tournament III when the video card is doing "the hardest quest".

The E6400 has overclocking potential. If you got a good mobo, you can overclock the cpu. Look at the games' recommended system requirements. You want to meet or exceed these.
