I'm trying to find a reasonably priced motherboard, and it's getting to be a pain in the ass here to do it >.<. Below are the specs of the system I'm putting together:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
RAM: OCZ 2X2GB DDR1066
PSU: Rosewill RX950-S-B 950W ATX 12V v2.2 & EPS 12V v2.91
Case: Antec 1200
Video: 8800GTS x2

What is giving me problems is, I'm trying to find a mobo that supports both DDR1066 as well as SLI (I.e Both cards are PCIe x16 2.0, so I'm trying to find a mobo that has two of those slots). Hopefully trying to find one under or at 200$, but it's getting hard. Just when I think I found one, it turns out it's normal PCIe x16, or it's DDR800 only.

Would the speed matter for my cards if I put them in normal x16? Or will it bottleneck the cards? I'm seeing differing opinions on the subject.

Any help would certainly be appreciated :D

Theres a page full of things that MIGHT work for you. I didn't do all the research for you, as you can see, but you would want to look through the 5 or so mobos listed there, see if any will work, and if they look like they might, verify by checking on the manufacturer's website as well.

Hmmm, well is there THAT much a difference in regards to 1066 and 800 for memory? If there isn't I would gladly switch to 800 (it's what I'm using now), I just wanted to upgrade in regards to memory speed. Or vice versa, is there any difference or loss of performance in regards to PCIe x16 and PCIe x16 2.0? Both my video cards are 2.0, so will I lose any performance in 1.1 PCIe slots?

As for Rosewill, is there that many problems? The reviews for the PSU looked good, and I'm using a 650w Rosewill right now. I'll take a look.

Alright, I noticed some of the Rosewills were having problems, so I switched to a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817153062. Should be plenty of power for an OC quad and two SLI'ed cards.

Thermaltake is good, Antec is good, OCZ is good (but often not 80+ certified, so they run hotter), and corsair is good; as far as PSU's go.

As far as the RAM goes, I'm currently using the 800 speed as well, there was a slight difference over 667 or w/e I had been using before. I haven't been able to afford to upg to 1066, and my current mobo probably doesn't even support it, but I'm upgrading that soon too :P.

The thing to be concerned about with SLI:
1) What resolution are you going to be playing your games at? Unless you're playing on higher resolution, you most likely won't see any difference when you're in SLI mode as compared to 1 graphics card.
2) Make sure when in SLI mode, both PCI-e slots will run at atleast 8x speed, any lower and bottlenecking (i.e. your CPU outperforms your GPU, and has to wait for the GPU to catch up) is virtually garunteed. 8x speeds will still bottleneck once you hit some of the higher resolutions.

As always, you will get better bang for your buck with 1 graphics card, than 2 cheaper graphics card's SLI'd or Crossfired together. Unless you already have both the 8800GTS's, you might consider springing for a radeon 4870, or a nvidia 280 gtx.

1680x1050 is my native resolution, and yeah I already have both my graphics cards. Reason I plan on getting them is I still see some lag in most of my games.

And all of the motherboards linked are 8x/8x for SLI or better.
