I recently built a new computer piece by piece, just when I think Im finished, I go to turn it on, and to my surprise the monitor doesn't turn on, at first I thought maybe I have a faulty adaptor, but I have it plugged into this one atm, so its not that, the fan on the graphics card is running so I know its getting power. I dont know why the monitor will not display with the new graphics card.

Does the standby light come on on the monitor, but no image appears when you turn the PC on, or is the monitor itself completely dead?

There is ALWAYS a drone.
More Information

Knowing your mobo would be useful, particularly whether it has onboard video that needs to be disabled.

There is ALWAYS a drone. Exactly where, or how many drones you will encounter may vary, but that there will be at least one will not.
More Information

It is a 99% possibility that your problem is not your graphic card or monitor.
What you have my friend is a failure to POST, which could be a whole lot things including you simply don't have the motherboard mounted correctly.
Please list your entire build, and maybe some BREIF details about how you assembled and tried to start it.

More Information

I honestly don't care for any more system details than motherboard and power supply, but the rest others with different theories to me.
