Ok I've been experiencing random crashes on the desktop, before logging in, and while running programs, it doesn't seem to matter. This has been going on several days. I managed to get the 0x00000050 stop error with "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area) and then got the associated error report from event viewer:

I reset the page file, ran memtest for 8+hrs with no errors, and scanned for viruses/malware. I found hundreds, almost thousands of trojans, so I decided to format and reinstall windows. I did that, installed SP2, and am still experiencing the freezes. I ran superantispyware and malwarebytes again to be sure they were gone, and they were, ruling that out. As of now, I can only boot into safe mode and even then only after trying several times. What happens is: the computer is on, but doesnt show anything and judging by the fact that numlock doesnt lite up I know windows doesnt boot. I'll restart, same thing. Eventually after coldstarting it will give me this: system boot fail, press f1 to continue or del to enter setup and restore defaults (which I did, in vain). Then windows will try to boot and I get the following stop error:

page fault in ....blah blah

0x00000050 (0xAC9E1000, 0x00000008 0xAC9E1000, 0x00000000)

Update:

After using the boot.ini to play with the boot settings, bootlogger, etc. to no avail, I reassembled my whole computer from scratch, pulled out the cmos battery/jumpered it, made sure everything was in right...turned it on and was installing windows. As soon as the first dialog comes up asking about regional settings and your name it froze. I rebooted and it froze on the asus logo. rebooted again, and it froze at the same place installing windows.

I didn't change anything in the bios the first time around. After the first freeze I changed the RAM voltage to 2.1 to make sure it wasn't undervolted. But other than that I didn't do anything and that certainly didn't help.

What do I do?
