Thread : No output from coax?

More Information

I have a GA-P35C-DS3R which comes with onboard coax and optical outputs. Is there some way I can configure them to be on? I'm fairly sure nothing is coming out of them since the amp I'm connecting them to works fine with other devices. I haven't tried the optical though, just the coax, so I'm wondering if it will only drive one at once and I need to switch it from optical to coax? Anyone know about this? Thanks!

Is your AMP digital?

If the S/PDIF is turned on it will push both optical and coaxial.

If you're running Vista it will only allow output through one device at a time. You'll need to tell it to use that output instead. If you're not running vista, make sure that the output bit size (16bit, 24bit, etc) and frequency (44.1KHz, 48KHz, etc) match the input capabilities of your receiver. Also check the Realtek soundmanager for digital settings.
