Question:

How do you plan to SLI with a motherboard that only has 1 PCI-E x16 slot and a chipset that does not support SLI? Going to be a challenge.

However, you don't need SLI at all, unless you are gaming at resolutions higher than 1920x1200.

Now then suggestions:

Drop the 9800GTX- overpriced and underpowered. Instead get an eVTA8 800GT, then trade it in in 3 months for a 260 card using eVGA's step-up program.

Get rid of the Raptor. 7200.11 Seagate and WD drives are just as fast now. If you want the speed you need to get a VelociRaptor for $300.

Change the motherboard to MSI Neo-F P45 board for $10 more.

looks good, but you should really wait for the new video cards. they're just days, if not hours away. it'll be worth it if you wait :)

Is this comp for gaming?? If it is get a E8400(hope that link works.) instead. They are better than the Q6600 in gaming.

Ok phong, if your buying an aftermarket heatsink, then get the OEM q6600.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115018 $199.99
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - OEM

Now take the $10 you saved and purchase either a P45 or P43 board for $100.

Thanks man. I've been thinking about the E8400 as well but.. I just seem to want the quad core more.

More Information

A dual core is really faster than a quad core unless you do heavy video editing, encoding that stuff. In games, you'll get higher frames rates because of the higher clock and about 99% of games don't support more than 2 cores. The only game I know of that will use 4 cores is Supreme Commander which the E8400 does good on too.

+1 on ACF7P
You won't get a C2Q case badge if you go OEM.
Why not get retail and AS5 and run it stock, it'll be plenty cool without OC. If you plan to OC, get AS5 and the ACF7P, I hear the thermal pad isn't as good as AS5 or MX-2.

More Information

Oh okay. I guess I'll go duo core. Thank you again guys. What is the ACF7P or AS5?
