Ok, I think i have some good parts picked out for a decent price but i was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to make an changes because this is my first build.

I will primarily be using this for gaming and school work

Ditch the sound card- onboard is just the same and you save $30.

P35 is on the way out. Look at the MSI P45 Neo-F for $10 more instead.

Great choice on the CPU. Wait until after Wednesday on the video card. 2xx series is coming out and might drive prices down. If you stay with 8800GT go eVGA so you can move up in 3 months if you want to. 260 looks be a great card.

Good Choice on Case - Be sure to Google and Look for Sales.
It can often be found for $80-$100 on sale.

You may also want to wait and see what the ATI 48xx series brings.
We should know in about a week.

So my list should look the same but without the soundcard and with a MSI P45 Neo-F LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard for $99.99 by Wednesday?

One more thing, what do mean when u said moving up in 3 months?

eVGA offers a trade in (step up) program they call it. You can buy an eVGA 8800GT card now. Within 90 days if you wish you can trade that card back into the them and receive the full amount you paid for it towards a new card (like the GX 260). The price you will pay is the difference between the two cards.

GT 260 is supposed to be around $399. eVGA's 8800GT is $189. So in 3 months you send them the 8800GT and $210 and you will receive a GT260 which smacks the 8800GT around. Plus you got the use your 8800GT for 3 months basically free.

Get the WD 640GB, its faster than the seagate.

After reading further today though you might want to wait 2 weeks and look at the 48x0 series cards that will be out by July 1.

The 280 card looks to be an early bust, 260 looks a bit more promising, but only 2 weeks might be a good idea to hold off.

4850 is supposed to be $199 and outperform 8800GT.
