Well..

Rosewill is crap. Get rid of that PSU. Instead- Corsair 550VX or PC Power and Cooling 610W.

Get rid of that motherboard. nVidia's Intel chipsets are crappy, and you don't need SLI anyway unless you are gaming on a monitor of at least 24". Instead look at this board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131299

One 8800GT now, stepup to a 2xx series card using eVGA's program in 90 days.

4GB of RAM DDR2 800 4-4-4-12. 2GB is fine, 4GB is better as cheap as RAM is.

Make sure its HomePrem for Vista. Home Basic is terrible.

that motherboard says ddr 2 1200 will ddr2 800 work in it?

More Information

sorry im a NOOB when it comes to this. Just trying my best to research and learn all this new stuff. Use to just buying my computer but building one sounds fun.

More Information

yes it will work, the ram will simply be working at 800mhz speed instead of 1200mhz. you got some headroom left for overclcoking or getting better ram in the future.

More Information

he shouldnt buy 4gigs at once if vista vista must be installed with 2 gigs then you can add the rest

More Information

Thanks for all the help guys so i need to install vista with 2 gigs at first, i never read about this. Can i just install it with the 2 gigs in then after its all up and runnign put the other 2 gigs in?

More Information

well when i was reading some info about it they said vista must be installed with 2gigs and then +gigs. i wait till someone has to say. i wish to know 2 as maybe that reviewer was lieing.

64-bit Vista non-issue. 32-bit Vista could be.

I just rolled out Vista Ultimate 64 bit Service Pack 1 on my PC last weekend with a FULL 4gigs of DDR2 installed without any issues whatsoever. I believe they have the4 gig issue ironed out.

My system in case you're wondering is a:

Core 2 Quad Q6600 OC'd to 3.3ghz
2x2GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 Ram 1066 @ 1150 5-5-5-15 (These are timings)
EVGA 680i SLI motherboard
Antec P182 SE Case
PCP&Cooling Silencer 750 quad power supply.
2 9800GTX's in SLI

I disagree with what's been said of the 750i Evga motherboard by previous posters. Its a great product!! I've been using SLI since the 7800GTX's with Nvidia Chipsets and have had no problems and excellent performance.

Hope this helps.

Hiya

With Vista 64, some people had to put one stick of ram in, boot up, then shut it down, then add the other stick of ram. This was with 64 bit, not 32.
