You should try reading around the site a bit.

Toms did an article a little while back about $4000 computer, $2000 computer, and a budget build. That will give you a good start.

Read the forums. There are tons of builds that will give you obvious ideas. Come back with some ideas and we'll help.

All right, go with evongugg's build. Just change the MB to Asus P5E Deluxe X48 if you absolutely want Asus.

Add a cooler (Xigmatek HDT-S1283 for example).
