On my old motherboard I have AMD Athlon XP 2600+, and I'm wondering whether I would be able to fit in this CPU into the new motherboard?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

Maksym

More Information

No.

AMD Athlon XP 2600+ is most likely socket A or 462, which is two sockets older than the 939. That being said. I'm not sure if your just looknig for a new mobo for your existing cpu, but don't buy a socket 939 mobo if you are also getting a new cpu. The price savings of old tech is simply not worth it.

More Information

I was actually just checking whether I have to add CPU to list for parts to buy.

Man, I was thinking of just upgrading my video card(which is AGV) but I guess, thanks for new PCIE slot requirement I'll have to get new mobo, cpu, and video card, sweet.. :/

Thanks for your help anyways,

Cheers,
