Wait for the new GPU's to come out if you can.

Don't get an SLI board unless you're absolutely sure you want to SLI (which it doesn't look like you are).

The PSU you chose is a good one, but overkill for the system you described.

Otherwise looks ok.

Spend 10 minutes reading the OP of this thread, it'll be time well spent I dare say:

Get the 7200.11 HD with a 32mb cache, it's better and doesn't cost much more.

i guess i just wanted a future proof one (or as much as possible) i might decide to go sli at some point.

I've not heard good things about MSI boards...

If you're waiting for the new cards you really should go for X38 and Crossfire ... especially since it costs less and 4870 CF blows the competition for an affordable price. This mobo is swell.

what about this motherboard
Would getting a 3870 now then waiting for a 4000 series to come out and put them in crossfire work?

^ yes you could put up a 3870 and 4870 in CF. But no one knows about how much performance boost that would give...you need to wait for the official benchmarks...they're about 10 days away.

780i boards are my least fav ... they're horribly expensive ... and for future prospects its even more expensive...because if you want to SLI the new Nvidia cards it would cost you $900 minimum ...

You get X38 which gives a great performance and supports Crossfire which is cheaper and for reason mentioned above.
