Hi!

I'm having some strange problems with my computer.

My setup is following.

MB: GA-P35C-DS3 F10
CPU: Intel E6850 (not overclocked)
Memory: 4*1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800Mhz PC-6400 @ 5-5-5-18, 2v

It has been stable almost a year, I,ve been running the memory at 4-4-4-12, 2.2v almost the time but
now i'm running them at 5-5-5-18 for testing.

But for 2 weeks now it's very unstable, i get BSOD, program crashes and so on. When i run Memtest i get errors.
But when i coldboot the system, the problem is gone for a time. I've tried to run Orthos and Everest and they say "Hardware error fault" when i have the issues. But after a restart it's fine?

I updated the bios via @bios to F11 before this happend, but i'm at F10 now to see if it's any difference, but no.

When i stress-test the system in Everest i see that a sensor named CPU gets to 60 degrees, CPU1 and 2 is just below.
Is CPU the northbridge and does it get overheated?

Any ideas?

I've been running on 5-5-5-18, 2.0v and it seems to be stable now!?

Why are you testing the higher latency which reduces performance? It the lower, faster latency works - why not stick with it?

^+1. Also increase RAM voltage by +.1. Also it's worth noting that the P35C chipset has issues. It's the chipset that supports DDR2/DDR3 on the same board.

B'cuz it was working until now, when i reduced the latencies it seems to work fine again?

But i'll try to increase the voltage by 0.1 and see if it works?

I still do not understand why you are trying to get higher latencies to work when higher latencies decrease performance. Most people are pissed when they can't get the lower, faster a latencies to work but you are spending a lot of time and effort to make you PC slower. Very strange.

Ok, my english isn't so good but i'll try to explain myself...

When I use 4-4-4-12 i get the issues but when i use 5-5-5-18 it works fine!
So if i get it right, the lower latencies is more demanding for the memorys then the higher, right?

I've been running now the system on 5-5-5-18, 2.0v and it's stable.

Should i try 4-4-4-12 @ 2.0v or more?

Of course i don't want my pc go slower, but in order to solve the problem, i'm testing the memorys on higher latencies, is that wrong?

Any clues?

This is just the opposite of what you first reported:

If you need more help with tuning memory, I recommend trying the Gigabyte forum at Tweaktown - where they have moderators that are expert in these matters. They helped me with 4x1GB of Ballistix memory on the GA P352-DS3L. There are a lot more settings than just voltage to consider.

Ah, thanks a lot! English isn't my native language...
Ok, What i meant from the beginning was that when i was running at 4-4-4-12 from start it was working fine until a few months ago when the problems started, then i changed to 5-5-5-18 and 2.0v and then it was stable again... So why did 4-4-4-12 work at first but not later?

I'll check out Tweaktown for more info.

Thanks again for the help.
