I'm going to tag onto this thread, as I have a 600W Enermax PSU (http://www.aone.co.uk/ProdInfo.ASP?ProductID=222) and want to know pretty much the same thing. Difference is my PSU only has 2 12V rails

A high-end system uses about 300w on load. It's recommended to have a PSU that can deliver twice that: 600w. That way efficiency and noise levels are (most of the time) optimal.

After some reading I'm starting to lean toward a 4850 crossfire setup. I know this would use more power than one 4870, but do you think it would still work? |

Not sure about 4850 crossfire with the PSU, but I know it can power a 3870x2 (I had to buy a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter to overclock it though). |

K, guys sorry for hijacking this thread, but the OP has 4 12v rails. Mine is a 450W but single 12V rail with 25A. What is the major difference here?? Will my 4850 work?? |

I guess I'm going to get 2 4850s and crossfire them. |
