I need a home PC to replace my Dell P4. The P4 is just way to slow and full of Dell preloaded junk. I'm in the market to spend about $400 on just the PC. I found a couple in my price range. Which is better:

Pentium Dual Core E2180 2.0 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+??? Why??? I have some parts from my old Dell that I will put into these like a 8600 GT, SB Audigy SE. I would also like it to play WoW from time to time.

hmm not really sure tbh, but if you could get a core 2 duo, it would be better :)

Errr.

E2180 is C2D, so you're OK there, and its 1.8Ghz I think.

I can assume you of that.

Depends how good the PSU you're going to put in is, if its a good quality, 400w+ one, then the E2180 might be better because you could overclock it by a few hundred megahurtz.

How many Ghz is the 4000+ X2.

I'd probably recommend the E2180 though.

E2180 is a Dual Core not quite a Core 2 Duo. PSU is 300 watts. My Dell has a 300W and it handled my 8600GT. The AMD 4000+ is a 2.0 as well. I can probably get a 4200+ or 4400+ since it is cheaper than the Intel.

It is £45 here, which is like <$90

A 4000+ X2 you could only get second hand here.
