please help, im wondering if i can upgrade my current processor which is:

Machine Type:Intel® Mobile Pentium III 1.13GHz processor-M featuring Intel®SpeedStep™ Technology

to my other laptop cpu which is:

1.7GHz Intel Pentium 4-M mobile processor with SpeedStep technology

i got this cpu from my other laptop that has a dead motherboard. can i use this processor for my old laptop? your help is highly appreciated. tnx

I'm pretty sure you can't - I can almost guarantee you that those are different sockets.

Sorry, It's simply not possible. As cji said, the sockets the CPUs fit in are not the same.

If you were going to a faster PIII-M or if you had a P4-M mobile board already, then sure. But there is no way you're going to be able to upgrade a PIII-M to a P4-M. There was a time when Intel had both the CPU and northbridge in a single package which made more upgrades possible... but I believe that stopped after the PII-M.
