You should be fine, get 2X1g sticks of ram and set them up dual channel though.

This may give you some idea:

I have a q6600 @ 3.3ghz
9600gt 512mb (overclocked)
1gb Kingston value ram X 4 (4 gig)
1 X Velocer Raptor 300g HD
1 X 500 gig Samsung HD
1 generic DVD

My power supply is a Cool master 470w and I have no problems at all. In fact, my system according to a Watt meter draws only 80w (this includes the LCD display which draws about 12w). This does not make sense to me, but it consistenly only displays that. I have tired the watt meter on other devices and it is accurate (e.g plugging in to a 60w glob, displays 60w).

I hope this is helpful.

I agree with the above posts. Only get 2x2GB sticks, so you can run dual channel mode and have the possibility to upgrade later to 8 GB.

So instead of making a new topic, I'll bump this one.

My PSU is the NZXT PP500 (500W), will it be able to run my system if I upgrade to an 8800GT Superclocked or should I buy a 650W PSU?

System Specs:
CPU-
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (not OC)

GPU-
NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT 512MB (EVGA)

MOBO-
ASUS P5N-E SLI

RAM-
4GB (4x 1GB) PC6400 Corsair RAM

Drives-
One CDR/CDRW & DVDR/DVDRW Combo Drive

HDD-
One 250GB 7200RPM drive

Fans-
2 LED 80mm fans & 2 LED 120mm fans

More Information

Even if you NZXT can run the system, it's not a good quality PS, and is thus potentially a danger to your system when it blows. Watts don't matter in today's systems; rather, you need to look at the +12V amp ratings, which are also listed on a sticker on the side of the PS. What are the +12V amp ratings for your NZXT?

This isn't a bump, it's called a hijack.

I don't believe I've ever heard the term "hijack" in a forum lol.

There are two +12V ratings.

12V1 = 16A

12V2 = 17A

I don't know much about power supplies... is this bad?

More Information

A hijack is when you do what you've done, ask questions in someone else's post. You should've started your own. Yes, I'd look at a better PSU.

"Hijack" is a common forum term for taking over (hence "hijacking" ) someone else's thread. I suppose it's easier to write than "threadjack".
Anyway, Mod is probably right about the PS. Here's a *very* nice PS at a good price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817703005
and here's a decent PS at a very good price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817341012
