Ok anyways heres the thing i bought a AGP8x card that looks like one large heatsink no fan its a Sparkle Gforce 7600 gs anyways My computer restarts itself every time i run a high graphics game. I was at first thinking it was getting too hot however It doesnt make sense that the graphics card designed by engineers would over heat. Ok so i have a problem that problem is that it restarts itslf. Ok i emailed Sparkle and they responded that it might be your PSU or power supply. So Should i dish out the money buying a 1010 w power supply. Maybe its just that i am over my 500w supply limit. I dont know but it sounds like i need to buy something.... Anyways do you guys know if its my powersupply or what.. I cautious buying a new powersupply because I really do not know if i need it.... LOl help me out guys ! I just want to be sure what to do thanks for reading. My Powersupply is a powersupply that came with my chasis I got it from Crazy PC.com it does not have anything written on it its totally generic.

Honestly, a 7600GS hardly consumes any power. What card did you have before it?

You probably have a POS PSU, 500W is more than enough to power a 7600GS.
A 1000W PSU would be MAJOR overkill.
Either your PSU is junk, or something else is causing the problem other than gfx or PSU. Could be that your CPU is overheating, especially if you have something a little older like a P4.

make sure ur psu is a good one with enough amps on the 12 volt rails that ur graphic card requires.

Phase III compensates for overcrowded Tier 1, while clumping together previously Tier 2 and 3 PSUs if only because no definite way to categorize then as good enough for Tier 2 or bad enough for Tier 3.

Also agree, post the make and model of the PSU, and your complete specs for that matter

My roomate has a 7900GS and it came stock with his Dell Dimension 9200 and has a 350W PSU. Something is amidst.

unless ur powersupply is at the end of its life it shouldnt be a factor is this issue. The 7600 isnt exactly a power hog..

i run my X1950 pro card on 380 watts.
