hi,
im almost ready to build a new computer, and im loocking for really nice stylish case.

i've found a few on my own, but all the reports said that had crap airflow

IE: Apevia X-discovery


I really want a case that looks modern and nice like this, but withalso good or decent airflow. Also im leaning towrad mid sized tower cases.

What im going to put it is:

Intel Core2 Quad Q9450(purchased)
4gb Crucial ballistix pc2-6400 800mhz 4-4-4-12 timings(purchased)
Gigabyte P35 - DQ6(purchased)
Antec Earthwatts 550 (purchased) (80+!)
2 Western digital 500gb 7200.11 drives in raid 1(purchased
im holding back on a GFX card for now, waiting till the 4870 comes out!
Cooler Master Hyper TX2 with artic silver 5(purchased)
Killer NIC network card (got it for free so w/e)

Any suggestions?

You want airflow you got it with this baby.

Also Antec cases get good airflow. I like Apevia cases, they dont get the best airflow, but they look nice and are decent cases, and dont get bad airflow, but not the best either.

antec 900 has an awesome airflow, but it's plastic and ugly. i have a cooler master cm 690 case which i really like. it's big, lots of room to work with, great airflow and looks pretty good to me. it has a simple design which i like, no front panels and very little eyecandy.

I like my CoolerMaster CM-690. It is a more subdued look than some, but very nice if you don't want a side window and lots of lights. Air flow is outstanding.
Some of the Apevia cases do look nice, but ever since I had a X-QPACK2 with serious QC issues (e.g. an assembly-drone put a screw through the power switch wires), I've looked elsewhere for cases.

I say go with Antec 900 it does have plastic on it, but it's a solid case with tons of air flow. It's easy to work in. Should hold what you got and keep it cool easily. Unlike godless though I don't think it's ugly.

I got one with a $40 mail in rebate about 6 months back, and I see no real reason to ever upgrade.

It really is the perfect case. Tons of airflow, and very versatile performance.

I second the CM-690. I have two of the cases. Also BTW there is a window for it but I can't find anyone that has it in stock...not a big concern to me since how my desk is setup I can't see that side anyways.

You can generally get it for well under $100 and with the large fans you can run slower and quieter fans if you are not looking to run liquid cooling.

Also add that I was able to throw everything into this case pretty quickly with how it is laid out...dvd-burner, MB, 5 SATA drives. Some might whine that there is not a removeable tray for the MB or HD. How the front drives are set sideways allows you to route the cables real nicely to the interfaces on your MB. PSU draws cool air right from the bottom of the case and spits the hot air out the back...bottom intake fan size can be limited if you get a gignormous PSU...in my case the Silverstone I have is modular and the connectors kept me down to a 80mm instead of the 120mm I wanted to use. The top two 140/120/92/80mm fans make sure any heat from the CPU/Memory/HD that does not get drawn out by the rear 140/120mm fan gets taken care off. The two side mounted 140/120/92/80mm fans wil make sure you cards don't get stuffy from any heat as well.

Also I am not sure your 550 PSU will run the newer ATI card. I am concerned about my Silverstone 680W being up to the task along with any thoughts of OC.

I know you said midsize case, but I have a coolermaster stacker 830 and I love the thing.....the potential cooling is absurd, and unless you actually have limited space, it makes sense to go with a bigger case since you can expand down the road (or fit some hideous sized videocards like my 2 gtx's). If you must go midsize you have alot of options.

yea i do need to go midsize, because of where im going to put the case.

a full tower is simply too big, and if i bought one i would need to get cable exrensions for everything due to the size of my desk.

but where its going to be positioned i kinda want to show it off, since my desk exposes it.

im still looking into the cm-690 but the antex 900 looks like a competitor.

Also i saw on the case round up on the home page the NZXT Tempest, that looked somewhat similar to the 900, but looked cooler and was made better.

but i decided, im gonna get the Tempest, i found a sweet deal on it, and it has all the things im looking for.

Antec-900 is the way to go...

I'd say Antec 300,same # of fan mounts as its bigger brother,around 1/2 the cost here in Canada,and its got air filters,something the 900 is sorely lacking. You just have to deal with a bit less interior space when installing your goodies.Plus it doesn't have all those pimp my ride blue led fans.

Hey post some pictures of the NZXT Tempest when you get it, I've been thinking about that case for a friend.
