8800gtx isn't best value right now, as they still cost a lot. A g92 8800gts with small oc overtakes 8800gtx in performance, and cost far less. And there's also the 9800gtx. Also, if you're going to buy Vista and don't already own it, get the 64bit version for your 4gb of ram. --------------- Q6600@3.6ghz, GA-EX38-DS4 X38 chipset motherboard, 8gb 800mhz ddr2 4-3-3-12, 8800GTS(g92)@780mhz, 1TB 7200rpm 32mb cache hdd, 850watt 12v rails=4x20amp powersupply |

The 9800 does slightly better than the 8800 with AA and other filters on, whichever is cheaper would be the way to go.

If you are spending that much money, I know exactly what you are looking for. I recently built a pc with that much. If you want an Nvidia mobo I highly suggest the 790i, the 780i's are nightmarishly hard to overclock. If you don't care too much about SLI, go for an X38 or X48 mobo that uses DDR2 RAM if you don;t want to pay extra money for DDR3. I wouldn't spend that much money on a sound card if I were using only a 2.1 speaker setup, but that's my opinion. Other than that I really think you are spot on. Case is excellent and it has a removable Mobo tray. And I personally recommend buying an Nvidia graphics card from EVGA because of their step-up program. That way you can get one of the new GTX 280's when they come out. Check these parts out:
