Nope, no performance increase unless you overclock your FSB faster than 1600MHz. I also suspect the Intel MB doesn't "recommend" DDR2-1066, but rather just supports it.

Good luck! These days, your money is best spent on the CPU (and if you're a gamer, on the graphics card). DDR2-800 RAM is plenty fast enough until compelling DDR3 systems are available in a year or so.
