It appears randomly whne I boot up vista. Stop:0x0000008e error. I have an Asus p5n-d E8400 2gb 800mhz kingston ram, 8800 GTS 512. I have reinstalled all the latest drivers for mobo ,sound and GPU in safe mod and I still get this at startup after the vista loading screen.

More Information

blue screen is almost always a ram problem. try running a ram testing program of some kind. there is one built into vista.

More Information

first, if you want help with error codes. then post the whole thing. Stop:0x0000008e error is not the full thing.

just get the full thing and search google for it.

example of full error code, "stop: 0x0000008E (0XC0000005, 0X81D93E9C, 0XB06FBC50, 0X00000000)"

with full error, you might get easier location of different people having same problem, thus finding a solution.

try using memtest84+ to c if there is any ram issues or not.

I vote RAM bad to. Download and burn memtest ISO to CD and boot off of it to run mem diagnostics. You shouldn't get any errors.

Here is Memtest86+. Download the - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip). In order to make the CD bootable, you will need to extract the ISO zip file with Vista and burn the ISO to CD with ISO Recorder v 2 or other ISO burning software.
