So I'm trying to build a mid priced gaming system but I want to "future proof" I do some GIS analysis so I could use the multi core benefits also. I have a 42" Sharp LCD 1920x1080 TV as my monitor so I will be doing some high res gaming. Any comments or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Steve

That power supply will do fine for one video card and probably ok with two, but that board supports 3 and if you plan to go there you may want to get a better PSU. Id recomment Corsairs 750 watt psu. That should handle that setup fully decked out if you decide to do it later.

Everything else looks good. If thats a middle end gaming system, its very high upper middle end and only due to the video card. Everything else could be considered high end considering your going to have a faster processor that 97% of the population... ;)

Well I probably wont go with SLI. Doesn't seem to scale very well with most games so I figure why waste the money? I decided on a mobo based on Nvidia because I've had good luck with them and I don't plan on any major overclocking. Maybe a little boost, but probably nothing above 3ghz. Any comments on the case? I like the color, but I know that isn't the best reason for buying a case. Any idea on airflow or anything?

So why do you suggestion this mobo over the one that I chose? I understand I am getting more on this board than is truly needed in SLI, but I do prefer Nvidia chipsets. I'm not going to be doing any massive OC'ing so I figured the intel chipsets wouldn't be that big of a deal. Is it just to save a little money? Thanks.

Any other comments on this build? Could use some feedback.

I think if you don't plan to SLI, then 780i will be overkill. You can save some money with P35 mobo. Or get the 750i. I don't know much about those NVIDIA chipset, but I presume 750i will be enough for you, and cheaper too.

You can get any P35 board with around 100$, or around 150-180$ for P35 with more features, depending on your need. From the money you save, you can have 2x2GB RAM, instead of 2x1GB.
