Hi Im thinking about replacing my graphic card 7300 GT with GeForce 8800GT or 9600GT
my configuration is Pentium D presler 3.2 GHz 1 GB DDR2 667 MGz. Will be enough to handle new graphic card ? or it will be botleneck

Your CPU will be a bottleneck as will your 1GB of RAM if you plan on playing games.

Regardless, every CPU creates a "bottleneck" of some sort.  It is just that older CPU's tend to hinder the GPU more than a better performing one.  As you climb into the higher end CPUs there really is much less of a bottleneck created and no real benefit to having the top dog CPU to make your games look good.    
A 8800GT will still run much better than a 7300GT but you will be held back by your CPU.  I'd go for the 8800GT over the 9600Gt unless you are constrained by cost.  It's worth the extra money for the 8800 though.
Save your $$ for a better mobo and CPU after that. What mobo do you have? some of the 775 socket boards will run a Core2 800MHz CPU with a BIOS update.  It would be work checking out as those CPU's are Cheapo.

Is your 7300GT a PCI-E x16 or AGP? If it's AGP, you probably don't have a PCI-E x16 slot and will need a new motherboard.
 
What kind of PSU do you have? The 8800GT consumes more than the 7300GT.
 
If you go for the 8800GT, I suggest picking one with a dual-slot cooler. Or even better an 8800GTS 512MB.

I dont worry about my 1 Gb DDR2 ram. DDR2 ram is very cheap so i can buy another 1 GB so that's not a problem. Sure i need new PSU my is 380W or smth like that... mother board is with chipest i945G so it has PCI express slot about 8800GTS 512 forget it cuz it's expensive where i live. So if i want to change the CPU sure im gonna need to change my mother board too so that's a lot of money

What 945G motherboard do you have? most of them will accept a Core2 CPU and you won't have to bother with a motherboard.
 
Yeah, you will want a better PSU for the 8800GT though.  Is it a brand name computer or a built one?

OK, so I guess it looks like this:
- step 1: 8800GT+PSU
- step 2 (later): MB+CPU+another 1GB of RAM. Look at GA-P35-DS3L.
- step 3 get a faster HDD like the Seagate 7200.11 320GB.
 
Even if the 8800GT is bottlenecked by the old CPU and lack of RAM, I think it will still make a big difference.

Well on everest it says chipset of the motherboard Intel Lakeport-G i945G.
I serched on intel site but no 945 chipset support C2D procesor if im not mistaken.

That's a solid motherboard.  I wouldn't get "another 1GB" or ran. You pay as well just get 2 or 4GB of DDR2 800 or higher memory.
 
I wouldn't go by what Everest is telling  you. its probably a board using the 945G chipset, but you may have to crack your PC open and look to see what brand and model it is. All the 945G chipsets I see support a core2.

Are we talking about an HP/Dell/Gateway machine here? If yes, give us the model number.

Well im not strong in money... but i think i have for ram and GPU but very hard for new CPU anyway

Yeah i looked it up and that is the ONLY Foxconn 945G motherboard model that doesn't support a Core2.  Sorry I really just wanted to check.

There seem to be 5 models that are all called 945G7MA + something or other, and FoxConn doesn't claim Core 2 compatibility for any of them. This doesn't mean it wouldn't work, but I wouldn't count on it.

Oh well, you can just upgrade the PSU and GPU for now and you'll still see a big improvement in games. Later when you have saved $300 or whatever you can take care of the rest, for example with a GA-P35-DS3L and a Q6600.

Yeah now that 2 of us say so.  The GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L is so freakin' rock solid.  I dunno about that Q6600 though... I'd get a e8400 or something. Who needs 4 cores yet? unless you are encoding or something.

MikeMK, I suggest you find some of the threads comparing E8400 and Q6600 and see which fits you better. The E8400 is better for some people , while the Q6600 is better for others. For example the E8400 is better if you play games, don't play FSX or Lost Planet, and don't do video encoding.

Well Q6600 is still too much for me for this time and i havent seen any E8400 in our stores. I dont buy via net that's my country.
