Hi. I am thinking of buying a new gaming pc from IBUYPOWER.COM and was wondering if this is a good build for FPS games and burning cds.

Every thing looks good. The only thing that troubles me the most is the PSU. Check with Ibuypower what PSU they are using, specifically, brand, model, watts, and amps on each rail.

Yeh, I'd be tempted to go for something with a little more punch than that anyway, it sounds as if it might be a non-branded PSU, so try to clarify that, and if it isn't branded get a better PSU. If you save much money going for a 512MB 8800GT, go for that, the 1GB really doesn't add much to it. I'd go for 3072 MB in RAM too, just a little extra juice, seeing as though Vista chews it up.

Looks good now, but will most likely be obsolete within a year.

From the reviews I have been reading the 1GB card is better then the 512MB on Dx10 games and the 512MB is better on Dx9.

One more note get a x64 OS. Any way get the lowest amount of RAM and upgrade the RAM your self. You can get DDR2 800 2GB kits for as low as $40.

The general consensus is that while the 1GB might give it an extra percent or two in some games, it is largely a marketing gimmick.

2GB Ram is the lowest i can get. why should i get a 64bit have a friend that has it and he had a lot of problems with it.

I recommended x64 because:

1. Runs most(like 95%) of the software you need
2. You will be able to use 4GB+ RAM (esp. with cheap RAM prices now, you can run 4+GB pretty easily)
3 I was referring mainly to XP x64 and not Vista x64.

If you know you have software that doesn't run on x64 then go for x86 or if you need 99.99% compatibility.
