I've had my trusty e4300 running at 3.0ghz for almost two years now and I'm getting the itch to get my hands dirty again. But I'm just wondering what the expected performance gains would be from my current cpu/clock and say an e8400 overclocked to a typical overclock.

Like I said I'm just getting the itch to start getting my hands dirty. But if it's not worth it (ie. my current cpu is performing well enough) I can wait a bit longer and just upgrade the vid card. Thnx.

Ps... I couldnt find anything other than the 2008 charts which for some reason doesn't show the e4300 (shrug).

Well i dont know about charts but i have been reading the forums and quite a few people have gotton their 8400 up to 4.0 Ghz and sometimes 4.5Ghz. Is that incentive enough to get your hands dirty?

lucky kid! i can't get my E4400 over 2.9GHz -_-' im pretty sure its the mobo though not the cpu or ram...
