Hi, I recently had a power outage while my computer was running and everything turned off completely. I did have a surge protector but all power was lost and it could not do anything. When I turned on my computer it ran fine and everything seemed in order except for games. The games seem to be laggy and sluggish whereas before they were smooth as butter. I run my games capped at 100 fps and at 100 hz on my CRT. The fps does not drop and stays at a constant 100 but the games do not feel as smooth as they did previously. The issue occurs in all games new and old ranging from Call of Duty 4 to Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike Source. I run the latest chipset and graphics drivers and I do not overclock. I have tried different monitors ranging from CRT to LCD with the same problem on each. I have experimented with Vsync on and off and the issue still occurs.

What is the problem and how can I fix it? could it be faulty hardware? how can i tell?

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you
