I would either check the RAM or the motherboard. You may need to flash BIOS or to possibly check for errors on the disk itself, although I doubt the latter greatly. |

My desktop was freezing on me every few hours. I pulled out all my PCI cards (wireless, firewire, SATA controller) and all hard drives but my OS drive and the freezing stopped. Try disconnecting all unnecessary parts and seeing if you still get the freezes.

5. I run Defrag/Scandisk every other week, whenever i'm bored so thats up to date.

Im having a similar problem... I have different hardware, but i have reinstalled xp 3 different times. The machine runs fine until I do a windows update (im updating FROM sp2). Im not sure what to do... |
