Which one is faster?:)
Forum CPU & Components : CPUs Which one is faster?:)
Im trying to decide between Intel and AMD for my laptop and need some quick help, which one is faster/better,I usually go by the amount of Ghz but I found from a geeksquad worker that theres other specs to look at,but he just couldnt explain them.Thx in advance
AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-60 (2.0 GHz, 512KB+512KB L2 Cache )
AMD Athlon(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-57 (1.9 GHz, 512KB L2 Cache)
or
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5450 (1.67 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Pprocessor T7250 (2.00 GHz, 2 MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB)
Power consumption and battery life are more importnat for a laptop.

For laptop, I highly recommend C2D's system. They not only run cooler, a little faster, and usually have more battery life than their AMD counterpart.
On the side note, if you don't mind waiting for a month or so, I recommend you taking a look at laptops with Intel's newest CPU, T9000 series. They run a lot cooler than the current C2Ds, and consume a lot less power.
Here is a review regarding the newest Intel CPUs.

EDIT:
The newest Intel's offering include both T9000 and T8000 series. Refer to the article I linked.

awesome thx a lot
What are you going to use the laptop for?
Do you want to play games?
Is it for use around the house?
Will it be fore Travel? How important is battery life?
its not good theory.

Battery life isnt important at all, I plan on getting a 9 or 12 cell to help out; This laptop is for work/travel but I want it to be good enough for the upcoming games(nothing hardcore though)
