Thread : computer is dead after TR 120 EXTREME installation

More Information

Hey ,
i installed my TR 120 EXTREME to my sysyem after the installation i turned on my comp , my 8800GT has the 100% fan as always (usally it for 5 sec) but now it stucks in the 100% position(VGA FAN) and the screen dosen`t want to open.
I tried to connect the TR again several times , tried to do CLR-CMOS , tried to put different VGA card , memory slots and what not but it dosen`t want to work...
I can think about 2 things :
1. Motherboard
2. CPU

my system :
Intel Core™2 Duo E6300 1.86 @ 2.6GHZ
GigaByte 945P-S3 s775
OCZ 3072MB (1024MBX3) GOLD CL4
Western Digital 250GB 7200RPM, 16MB, SATA II
ASUS 8800GT 512MB OC 85498465 :D
Compucase-HEC Midi Tower CI-6A19 BL Front USB 400W
V.2 Case
ViewSonic VX922 19'' LCD 2ms DVI
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse
Logitech Elite KeyBoard
Creative XtremeMusic + Creative 5200 5.1

what do you think the problem can be?

Most likely you will only need to remove then reattach the RAM to your motherboard. No beeping sound on bootup? Mostly likely RAM.

Multiple beeps usually means a loose video card. If no sound, I'd say RAM first, then processor. Then mobo.

More Information

there is no beeping , i tried different RAM sticks and it didn`t work.

Recheck all your power connections from PSU to motherboard.

checked it`s not the problem ..

I can only guess that it is your mb. Its unlikely that your cpu is dead so long as it is in contact with cooler. Maybe you got some A silver on it??...maybe something else failed when it was being handled?

Unless you don't have the case speaker connected to the motherboard, no beeping usually indicates a dead motherboard, but if there is a CPU problem then pretty much anything can happen. Make sure your CPU is nicely in place and the cooler is properly seated.

It is possible that the backplate of the cooler is shorting out the M/b. Try replacing the stock cooler.

Good point, shorting could immitate a dead motherboard - and could lead to one too :o

tried to turn on comp without any cooler for few sec and it didn`t help , i think it`s something with the CPU PINS or the motherboard

Besides checking the power wires to the motherboard, make sure the wires are connected to the video card. At least from what you wrote "the screen doesn't want to open", it sounds like you mean that no picture shows up on the monitor at all. And yes, I onetime made the error of not plugging a line into a video card when putting in a new motherboard. Easy enough to fix.

There is the possibility that you screwed the motherboard when installing the TRUE. Try using the previous heatsink and see what happens, making sure that you clean everthing while you do it and look for bent pins, scorch marks, etc.

I have only one weird pin , it`s in different color(gold-yellow) and it`s not curved it`s like inside or something .
The power is plugged to the VGA CARD , if the power won`t be plugged it will do some irritating sound like beeping but in the new style .

Since the Ultra doesnt come with a fan... what do you have plugged into the CPU fan slot?

That CPU socket doesn't look right. Have you tried removing that thing (the big dot in the socket)?

I agree. It looks like either something got onto the pin, or the pin may have been scraped and may no longer be functioning. But it looks most like something got onto it, perhaps insulating it.

haha now that I look at that picture, that 1 pin is rather suspicious looking.
