I put my part of my one computer into a new case so I could make room for a new computer but I have a little problem now. All I did was to take all my parts out of my one case which I will be putting new parts in and put them into my new case and in my device manager now I have an exclamation mark in other devices and it says pci device. I did not put any new parts in I just had to take them out to move the mobod etc. The only thing I have in a pci slot is an audigy 2 zs gamer which has not caused me any problems before. It works great and everything seems to be fine. I have xp pro with an amd 4400+ along with and ati 2600xt.

I'd check to make sure all your connections are secure. Could also try clearing the CMOS |

I have reseated and moved to another pci slot. The card is functioning fine. Sound and things work great. I have never had to reset the cmos. What do you do? |

Possibly a onboard device that is now enabled in the BIOS that was previously disabled? |

Ok, followed the instructions on how to clear the cmos. Now, it just wants to boot from cd and says boot disk failure. I don't have cd set first for boot. What do I do now? |

Now you have to find out what key to press during the POST to get to the BOOT sequence menu in BIOS.

Set the boot order in the Bios. Choose to boot from the hard drive. |

Make sure the BIOS is set up to recognize the drive be it ATA or SATA. Try running the hdd mfg diagnostic/repair software from a floppy, can get it from the hdd mfg website. Clearing the CMOS should not affect hdd recognition unless it's an older board that the default settings are not set up to recognize a SATA drive and your drive is SATA |

I got it to go. I had to go into bios and set which hard drive to boot off of. I have never had that happen before. Anyway the clear cmos did not work. The mark is still there. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH. |

Simple steps: 1.) Download the latest Sound driver for your card Edit: Sometimes when you run the new install for audio drivers, and it see's the current driver installed, it may ask if you want it removed. If there isn't an uninstall, then you can remove the driver from the device manager as zorg suggested. Message edited by Grimmy on 12-06-2007 at 07:18:42 PM |

The disc boot thing............... first thing would have been to check the connections.
