what's Hwbot ?
it's a website known all around the world...all world records & all benchmarks are classified there !
Cpu-Z, Aquamark, 3Dmarks, SuperPI, WPrime, Pifast...
500 teams are registered and so are the best overclockers of the world

the team has two world records at this time !

it's only the beginning. We regularly organize meetings in order to exchange our knowledge et test our processors under extreme cooling systemes such as LN², Single and double phase change (cascades), Watercooling, TEC ...

Just to give a bit more information:
- it's free (nothing to pay except to buy your own computer :D )

- obviously, being thousands of miles appart, we wouldn't be able to meet up that often, but it doesn't stop you from trying to get a WR of your own
and who knows, if you ever come to visit, we could set something up

- you can participate with about anything: I myself am setting up a couple of P II and K6 PCs to have a little fun

can't think of anything else at the present time
if you have any questions, just ask ;)

Interesting, is there anything you must do when you join? Any benefits from joining (well, the joy of OCing is a benefit itself to some people)?

Aside from that, you may want to post this in the cpu section where you'll get much better feedback. Don't worry about breaking some rules, I'm sure the mods will understand. The OC section is rather dead, so you won't get as much feedback.

thanks

as for the "benfits", it's really all a matter of "prestige" more than material rewards

the systeme is simple: you have to get validation for your overclocking exploits, this is done by screening with a few programms (CPUz usually and maybe one or two others... ) and sending it to a server where points will be given acordingly to what you have achieved compared to what has already been achieved by others

and those points are credited to the team you belong to (and you can always see how much points are yours in the team of course)

there is no money involved, sometimes some hardware when we meet up (sponsors ... )

but it's mostly for the overclocking

OCing is a benefit itself for me, but sadly I do not have the time to do so. Perhaps during the summer I could make some time and join, assuming that there isn't limited space.

no limitation of that we know of then again, we're more or less trying to get an internationnal overclocking team so we are possibly dealing with a number of members wich has never been considered before

anyway, you can join whenever you want, you do not have to necessarily overclock at any paticular time to be part of the team

Sounds cool. Who needs benefits? Although....a nice prescription plan would be nice.

i find it!
westyle speaking english!

glad to meet users from far away, we'll have good times maybe, why not?

At first, don't think that it's limitted to extrem overclocking. Of course we speak about LN2 and some other extrem ways, but the aim is also to offer a great place to talk about and to learn a lot.

Personnaly, i'm only a poor 4ghz overclocker, far away from world records, althought i find my place in.

At least, please excuse my english which should make me seem like a child, be sure that i do my best.

to westyle: but how to create account on HWbot??? i don't find it! E8200 is waiting!

et pour finir, un petit mot en français puisqu'il parait que cela a son charme: bonjour à tous.

go to:
http://www.hwbot.org/

on the lower left part of your screen is a Login window where you can either log in or register

then follow the signs

and when asked to choose your team, if you want to join us, pick "Tom's Guide/Hardware France"
we might have a change of name and drop the "France" if we can get internationnal members (appart from me that is )
