Just finished my first build last week. Gigabyte P35 DQ6 and Vista 64 bit. Lessons learned. Both are cutting edge (exciting), but, the big BUTT, P35 and Vista are the challenge the ''Veterans" crave. The BIOS went "fine" called Gigabyte support 5 times and they answered the phone and my questions. Vista is a challenge. I am very comfortable with XP, but my "advisor" insisted on 64 bit. Gigabyte program "icool" will turn off your CPU Fan. My room mate said " hey, your new computer is making this screaming sound." Delete that one. If I were you, I would throddle back a few thousand RPM's. Go with an "older" board that will accept the Intel 6850 and stick with XP. |

I'd get a cheaper keyboard, and use the savings for a 24" monitor or a better video card.
