On the charts section at http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/char [...] ce,18.html there are loads of different benchmarks for harddrives such as write, read, transfer and other things. How did they get these results? Is there an application to use to test your harddrive?

download it save it and your ready to go

It did not work because it says it requires XP. I use Vista.

It will work in vista if you right click on the shortcut icon and open properties. You will need to go to the compatibility tab and choose run as XP service pack 2... Then also click the run this program as Administrator check box option and you are good to go it will work fine.

Now I need to find out why my esata drive is coming to a 1.4 MB craw when i try to copy a large folder to it. The search continues.
