I was recently hired to write JavaScript for application atomization and was wondering what good, free, preferably open source, key-logging software is out there? If this questions inappropriate for this forum, could someone please direct me to a website/forum that it wouldn't be. Thanks.

I know one in C# that works. But try YouTube for what you want. There should be many videos for what you are searching for

Maybe I am not understanding what you are asking for. Keyloggers are bad, you don't want anything to do with keyloggers. If you are looking for something to handle key events, then jQuery is all you need.
