I have a problem thats driving me mad, I have 10/10 internet connection and until today I had a 100 mbps compatible router and 2 computers with 100 mbps compatible cards...yet it never went over 10 mbps(even when I was transferring files over the LAN it was 10 mpbs shared with the internet connection) one way, not even full duplex...I didnt find any speed limiters on the router or anything...I ofc thought my router was **** so today I bought a new router and 2 new network cards (wireless) and my computers both show 54 mbps yet it still never goes above 10 mpbs...is there any in-built limiter in windows or something else that I missed?

There is not built-in limiter in Windows. If you want 100mpbs between your 2 PCs, they must have 100mpbs lan adapters, the cable where data is going through must be 100mpbs compatible, and routers, hubs, switches where data is going through also. In your case you have 100mpbs cards and a 100mpbs router.. so check if your cable is 100mpbs compatible.

it was, and now that im using wireless and getting a really good signal and stuff i would say it should be higher :X

Just so you know in real life wireless 54 mbps never break 26 mbps plus there is overhead depending on the protocol for transfer. If you want a true benchmark use qcheck. If you have true 100 mbps it will tell you.
