Hi, folks. I'm putting together a new system from scratch. The hardware is

In the bios, does it recognize and display the hard drive? Try booting with 1 or 2 sticks of ram. |

Try connecting only one boot source at a time - floppy only, disconnect all optical and hard drives. Try each optical drive one at a time. Make sure the device being tested is the first and only thing to appear in the boot priority list. Disable the FDC when you are not testing it.

You need to enable your SATA controller in the BIOS because you have a SATA hard drive. Set your boot drive to the SATA drive in the BIOS. When your system starts to recognize your system disk and asks if you need to install additional drivers hit the key they suggest. The driver is on your motherboard disk. If you follow the directions on the screen you should be able to get your system to recognize your drive and go on to install you system. I may be leaving something out. If you have access to another computer there is help on the web. I would Google it. |
