Vista Ultimate SP1 64 bit requirements and my PC

I wish to know what are the hardware requirements for Windows Vista Ultimate SP 1 64 bit and Direct X 10.1. I am planning to buy the below mentioned system with the following hardware:

Kindly throw some light on this system's compatibility for Vista 64 bit as well as Direct X 10.1. Also I have read that Windows seven would have the same hardware requirement as that of Vista. - - I have an issue with this: Given that you have chosen a CPU that runs on a 1333FSB, why are you choosing an older 1066FSB motherboard/chipset? This makes no sense to me. I would recommend a P35 based motherboard or newer here, please.

Be advised that a 19" Widescreen is basically a fatter 17".

Though to be honest, I prefer 20" or larger: At work, I can see 26 columns on a spreadsheet on my 20". Spending a little more money here to get more than you maybe think you need will make a much bigger difference in your day to day usage than, say, a faster processor. You have plenty of horsepower in that video card to use it, too.

- - I'm not familiar with this. Check with the maker - If they have drivers, you should be prefectly fine. If it's light duty stuff - Business and Ultimate versions of Vista include the facility to send and receive faxes, though you'd need a scanner for paper docs. - - At one time, Creative had the absolute worst support for Vista: Then left a lot of customers high and dry when they End Of Life'd nearly all their old product lines, and their newer ones suffered from drivers with limited functionality and issues like distortion and snap/crackle/popping. Not to mention threatening lawsuits against people who tried to fix these broken drivers. So a lot of people are/were pretty pissed off at them. HOWEVER - Creative's new drivers are supposed to be very good and fully functional. Having said that: I would use the CD in the box as a coaster for a nice frosty drink, or maybe an ornament for a ghetto christmas tree, or perhaps to hang from a scarecrow so the flashing reflections will help keep birds out of the garden. Instead, download the very newest straight from Creative.

I'd recommend you stick with XP

Zippy - I do not recommend running new operating systems on old, old hardware. Changing the version of Vista does not change the answer.

would this be able to run vista with little to no lag
