This may seem like a dumb question but I have never known the answer. I am about to do a clean intall with vista on a comp that has XP. During intallation how does deleting the partition wipe out the previous windows so fast? Usually uninstalling anything takes at least a couple minutes. Or maybe I am doing something wrong |

Another question just came to mind. I am installing the 32-bit version. If I put in 4g or ram is it actually going to utilize it or is 3.5 the max? I know that 4g won't register but will it at least use all of it? |

In 32 bit Windows operating systems, the total addressable space available is 4GB. If you install a total of 4GB worth of RAM, the system will detect/use/display less than 4GB of total memory because of address space allocation for other critical functions, such as:
