I'm real close to having my new "Rig" built, but here I have an older HP printer(5550) HP 5470 scanner and some photography software such as Nikon Capture. I'm unsure if this software will be compitable with vista.Do you think XP is available at most computer shops? Mabey I should wait out the storm.

Just do a little research at HP and Nikon. Old scanners and printers have been problematic.  
 
XP can still be purchased. Till sometime in June I think, officialy.

Funny, I just setup one of those 5550's today.  When I was downloading the driver from HP's website, I noticed that they had Vista 32bit and 64bit drivers so you should be cool there.  Click!
