Just starting to work with Hardy Heron.
I want to use Oscar to cluster mainly for encoding/ripping purposes.
I have a workstation and three P4 2.4.
Do the clients in an Oscar client have to be have exactly the same hardware config?
Is this setup HH/Oscar a good software choice?
I picked Hardy since it most compatible with the Oscar Project while being easiest to use from reading reviews.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You should do fine. I would just double-check everything in the configuration guide: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou [...] ww&cad=rja

Thanks for the link.
I was also looking into DVD::RIP since what I am interested in is ripping/encoding and I did hear about Multimedia Encode which is beta.
And yes these are my personal DVD collection which is approx 300 discs so I am trying to do it the quickest way plus cluster computing is cool LOL
I wonder if I can install Linux as a VM and then run the cluster from the that?

Given that you can build a cluster of VM's I see no reason why not.
