I'm updating my motherboard, CPU (going from AMD to Intel) and RAM but keeping the HD(s) and DVDRW.

One issue would be the old HD has the old MB chipset and system drivers installed which will not work for the new Intel MB. A 'repair' install may work, not sure. A reformat and fresh install of VISTA would be my suggestion. Message edited by badge on 02-20-2008 at 04:36:18 PM |

i have actually done that b4, i stuck old vista installed harddrive into completely new computer and it booted, all i had to install was video driver. i did this on accident when i built my new computer |
