hey all, ive been using 3ds max 9 for years and recently downloaded the 2009 trial (from torrent not from official site, BECAUSE im on dialup and torrent has way better resume support than any other method). Although the trial will not install, it passes all other apps to instal like dx and msl etc then when it reaches the installation of accual 3ds the bar goes through once (reads, setting up registry, then somthing about DOM or COM) before failing and giving me a screen with 2 crosses, one next to 2009 32bit and one next to 2009 X64.

So unbelievably annoying, i even uninstalled 3ds 9 before trying the install. yes i have restarted.

BTW: using XP X64 with 2gb ram athlon X2 4600+ at 3ghz ive got admin rights etc. may try to install under another user later.
