More Information

So Ive read a bit about Vista and overall it sounds like a so-so OS. The thing that really caught my eye was all the problems people have been having with the built in DRM. Can someone please explian exactly WHY/HOW this is even legal/included in the OS??? From what ive seen some people cant even record TV shows using there TV/Video cards because a little pop up springs up and says YOU CANT DO THIS BECAUSE THIS IS COPYRIGHTED CONTENT. I mean WTF what else is this wonderful DRM going to do??? Maybe prevent people from ripping and burning there own custom music CDs ....you know the more I hear about DRM the more pissed off I get :x

YAWN!!! Have you used the search function - DRM has been around the block several times. If I could, I'd give you a quarter and tell you to call someone that cares!

This is a double-post, I saw your feeble attempt to get a reply in the XP section (2 replies) - you'll get a much better response in the linux section (you and Syph can just have a ball!).

So besides HD/Blu-Ray DVDs and TV shows, DRM doesn't affect anything.

No use getting pissed over it, since the Digital Mellenium Copyright Act (thank you Clinton) makes it 100% legal. Puts the content control in the hands of the creators. The creators don't want something done with it, it'll be damn hard to get it stopped. A pop-up coming up not letting a person record something, they probably haven't got the thing configured right.

I've never had a TV show issue either, and I've been using it as a primary source for recording/playback for months.

You've read about people complaining about what they think it might do.

When you read what the people who use it say about it, its not an issue.

Just as you are complaining about something you haven't experienced and you're getting pissed off.. over what? A non-issue.
