Sum up the facts for me on vista? Sorry, but I look all over the place and find nothing but contradictory information. On one hand I feel like im jumping the gun, but on the other I want it sooo bad.
I have an:
e6600
Geforce 8800 gts 320
2 gigs of ram
So I can definitely run it. What I want to know is:
1. I keep hearing that it runs games terribly, but then why do I keep seeing benchmarks with MINIMAL fps drops (like 5-6 fps?) And with the 8800 isnt vista better than running xp?
2. Will the menus and such run noticably slower than xp?
3. OEM or retail? What is the best place to buy it from (thinking probably newegg..) What is the difference between oem and retail, what comes in the package that would make you by non oem? I also see that newegg has a promotion that lets you get free stuff like a printer, 2gb flash drive, and router, all of which I could use. How does that work?
4. Can it be transferred? As in, xp ive reinstalled freshly on my current pc about 5 times over the past couple years. Can I do that, or will I get issues? Can me and a buddy split the price for ultimate and both run it, or does it not work like that (I believe we are using the same xp key, but I dunno for sure)?
5. What kinda hassle am I looking at? Will I have to delete all my files from my current HD to run xp or can I just delete the xp partition and overwrite it with vista?
6. Are there any compatibility issues? Will my g15 keyboard still work? Will some of my games not work anymore?
7. Will the price drop anytime soon, and will I feel buyers remorse?
8. whats the difference between the 32 and the 64 bit, and they are the same price correct?

That sounds pretty DOPE. Vista is and has:
1) Loaded with DRM and AACS
2) Many resources (mine had 68 ) running
3) Too new so not all apps or devices are at 110%
4) Rip off prices
5) Aero is not all that
6) Explorer is pretty different so you may or may not like it
7) This is one guy's video of his issues 8 ) Poor frame rates with games
