Hi,
Is there a way to disable the autorun feature for applications present in
storage card when the storage card is inserted? What I meant to say is that
apps present in storage card can be made to run as soon as the storage card
is installed to pocket pc device, but does there exist a way to not allow
this to happen? And we don't know whether such apps present on storage card.

Thanks,
Saurabh

All I can do is give you some hope that there is a registry entry that
will deal with this to let you know to keep searching.

When ppc's were first released, I remember that some ppc's had control
panel entries which allowed users to turn off this capability, so, would
be pretty sure it is there, just forgotten since vendors have abandoned
the concept of distributing apps and content on memory cards.

This search has some posts that will explain more on how this works:

Hopefully in understanding that, you can accomplish what you're after.

(honestly, I never even heard of this till reading your post)

Look up autorun security policy on MSDN, it's documented in there. The ID is
2 and if you set it to "1" it will disable autorun.

Is this some sort of childish top-post whine?

Please... I have seen good intents such as yours succeed in destroying
excellent newsgroups.

If the open posting nature of this group and the acceptance of any
posting format bothers you as much as it appears to, may I ask why you
continue to participate in this group?
