Can anyone tell me what the "SafeStore" area of my Samsung i730 is and what
it should be used for. It shows up like a 2nd storage card with 80mb of
space (6 currently in use).

Thanks in advance.

Beverly Howard did a great job of explaining this to me when I first showed
up here. I was obviously very confused. Read his post not mine.

Thanks for the link Chance.
Wow, I've got a lot left over. I wonder if that space is better from
programs or data storage.

Yes, thanks twice today Beverly!

Is the SafeStore a "faster" location than removable media? Seems like it
should be. I'll see what programs I can get to install there. It seems like
many programs are "required" to go to the main storage area.

I use mine, though it is called Built-in Storage in my Dell x50v, almost
exclusively for programs. The vast majority of programs can be put there or
on a removable card. I use my cards for data, photos, music, powerpoint,
whatever. That way I can be assured that I have the appropriate program
available regardless of which memory card I insert. I try to install as
little as possible to RAM, as anything that goes there reduces the amount of
execution RAM that is available.

I personally prefer it for programs. You can put data there, and music
files make a great choice if you have enough room, but most data I
want synchronized between my PPC and PC and data in the "safestore" or
flash ROM doesn't sync.

Thanks Sven & Ed: That's the direction I'll try.

Same device and methods used here. Works like a charm.
