I want to shut off some of the background programs on my Windows 2000 rig but I don't know the command to use. I am hunting for the equivelent of msconfig with XP in 2000. Thank you for your time.

You can download msconfig and run it in Windows 2000. I think I did a search for msconfig on the Microsoft web site but may have gotten from Google. It's an .exe file that I copied and pasted to my desktop. I don't think it installs as a program, you just run it when you want to use it.
